My Pregnancy Journal for Baby #2: Week 32

Baby at 32 Weeks:

Baby BOY is as big as a Squash!

He's getting ready for his descent and likely in the head-down position now. He's probably feeling even more cramped.

My Symptoms: Varicose veins... not painful anymore (I have been putting grapefruit oil as well as lavender oil on them), but they are still noticeable and in one spot there is bruising. Feeling the BH contractions more and more. It's getting more challenging to carry Agnes and the groceries up the three flights of stairs to our apartment (only when she needs it) as well as maneuvering in general.

Maternity clothes? Yes, and I'm quite happy with my wardrobe choices this time around.

Sleep? Good! Just the wriggling out of my snoogle when I have to go to the bathroom every 2 hours at night is a challenge but no insomnia as of now. I'm surprised how well I am sleeping this time around.

Best moment last week? Any time we are together as a family is a best moment. Paul has been very busy these last few weeks so whenever we have time together is cherished.

Movement? Baby boy is moving quite a bit and he gets hiccups every day now.

Weight Gain: Not sure, my next appointment is this coming Monday. I'm thinking I gained about 3 lbs since I haven't been consciously eating well... and this is the time I think I pack on the most weight. Here's to hoping it's only a pound or 2.

Cravings: Nothing in particular. Just wanting to keep snacking and finding very unhealthy food :) (i.e. fun pops and chips)

Food Aversions: Still Cilantro and Basil. I guess a lot of the common spices like Oregano, Cumin, Parsley, etc. are on my list of aversions. That hasn't changed and I haven't found any new aversions. I don't think my food aversions will ever change, pregnant or not unfortunately.

What made me cry this week: Nothing; staying strong and beating the hormones :P

Medical Stuff: Everything looks fine since May 13th (my last appointment) so I'm not concerned with going almost 3 weeks since seeing my doctor and she thinks it's fine so yay!

Something I am excited about: Deciding on a name for baby boy, instead of just always calling him, "Baby Brother." It's cute but I WANT A NAME!!

Something I am anxious about: New responsibilities and juggling two kids by myself. Paul works hard and a lot so it would be just me and Agnes has been throwing Terrible Two tantrums that I have a tough time dealing with when it's just me... sooooo I'm anxious about two children.

My Pregnancy Journal for Baby #2: Week 31

Baby at 31 Weeks:

Baby BOY is as big as a Pineapple!

Baby boy is going through major brain and nerve development; eye development, too. His irises now react to light! All five of his senses are in working order.

My Symptoms: Varicose vein pain (I think I got a blood clot; superficial thrombophlebitis), feeling big, acid reflux, frequent bathroom visits, getting harder to move around.

Maternity clothes? Yes... and might get a few more things before baby gets here.

Sleep? Good! Just the wriggling out of my snoogle when I have to go to the bathroom every 2 hours at night is a challenge but no insomnia as of now.

Best moment last week? My MIL and SIL came for a visit during the week. Agnes loves when she gets to spend time with relatives or friends.

Movement? A lot! And now it's noticeable through clothing, my belly looks like a wave at times. Also, baby boy is starting to get hiccups every day.

Weight Gain: Last weighing experience, I was 159 lbs. so we will see how much I gained in about 2 weeks.

Cravings: I'm lucky to not have violent cravings. I have been seeing sushi around my FB news feed and would love to get some but it's not especially needed.

Food Aversions: Still Cilantro and Basil. I guess a lot of the common spices like Oregano, Cumin, Parsley, etc. are on my list of aversions. That hasn't changed and I haven't found any new aversions.

What made me cry this week: Nothing; staying strong and beating the hormones :P

Medical Stuff: Haven't seen the doc in about a week and a half and I'll go another week and a half before I see her again. Not worried; this has been a good pregnancy (except for the varicose veins... ugh.)

Something I am excited about: Deciding on a name for this little guy. It's so hard!!! We have a few options. One name I can remember right now is Vincent Edward or Vincent Joseph... Paul still throws the name Enzo around still (maybe a Lorenzo or Vincenzo?). Jude Gabriel; Christian Gabriel... I really don't know!!

Something I am anxious about: I think I've been anxious about how Agnes takes this change. I already have Mommy guilt when it comes to not being able to put my full attention to her and have "Baby Brother" all the time. I just don't want her to feel left out.

My Pregnancy Journal for Baby #2: Week 30

Baby at 30 Weeks:

Baby BOY is as big as a Cucumber!

Baby boy's skin is getting smoother, but his brain is getting wrinklier to make way for all that essential brain tissue. He's now strong enough to grasp a finger!

My Symptoms: I feel bigger and bigger... and look bigger with each week (or is it day?). Acid Reflux is bad, but not as bad as last pregnancy where I didn't take anything for it. I am getting varicose veins and putting grapefruit oil on them but I might have started too late :( Acne, itchy tummy, hormones... blah blah blah Oh and I'm exhausted all day every day :(

Maternity clothes? Yes... and I'm so thankful to have purchased maternity jean shorts for summer form my Christmas gift cards!

Sleep? Good! Just the wriggling out of my snoogle when I have to go to the bathroom every 2 hours at night is a challenge but no insomnia as of now.

Best moment last week? Taking a day trip to STL for Paul's sister's HS graduation. It was a very fun day for Agnes and she got to see two of her Great Aunts and one of her Great Grandmothers.

Movement? A lot! And now it's noticeable through clothing, my belly looks like a wave at times. Also, baby boy is starting to get hiccups every day.

Weight Gain: I weighed myself at my in laws over the weekend... I was at 159 lbs. so from last weigh in, 3 lbs. gained.

Cravings: Any type of food I think looks good, I eat. Then I eat some more. Shopping has been tempting and I have given in a few times... i.e. CHIPS!!

Food Aversions: Still Cilantro and Basil. I guess a lot of the common spices like Oregano, Cumin, Parsley, etc. are on my list of aversions. That hasn't changed and I haven't found any new aversions.

What made me cry this week: No crying this week.

Medical Stuff: All looks well. My next appointment isn't for a couple of weeks because my doctor is taking a well deserved vacay.

Something I am excited about: Right now? Sleep :)

Something I am anxious about: Another labor... I'm getting a bit nervous.

My Pregnancy Journal for Baby #2: Week 29

Baby at 29 Weeks:

Baby BOY is as big as an Acorn Squash!

Had to have the pic of Agnes giving hugs to her baby ;)

Baby boy is getting a little cramped in there, since he's growing so fast. He's growing white fat deposits under his skin, and his energy is surging because of it. Feel subtle twitches? It's baby hiccuping!

My Symptoms: I'm big. Acid Reflux sucks... even with Zantac it's still there :( bathroom visits every half hour. Leg ad foot cramps... having to go to the bathroom a lot (I am hydrating like crazy when I'm home all day so consuming 90 oz. of water will do that, lol). Regular pregnancy stuff, though. Just feeling bigger, but I can still shave my legs and paint my toenails so... win.

Maternity clothes? Yes, and I may have to get some more for summer. That Old Navy visit was very helpful for me to know more of what the every day clothes I will need in the next few months.

Sleep? Pretty good, considering this time last pregnancy was very tough for me with the acid reflux and the hip pain, but thankfully the snoogle body pillow has really helped my comfort and even when I find myself partly on my back, it keeps me tilted a bit so as to keep baby safe and not cut off blood flow.

Best moment last week? Getting some drawings done for a friend's bathroom. I drew very cute signs for her little girl's bathroom that she can paint... as well as a mural on her bathroom wall that she is almost done painting. I feel accomplished and more creative than ever!

Movement? A lot! And one particular day was very freaky... it was like I saw a hand or foot print just sticking out of my stomach... yeesh! But yes, he's active!

Weight Gain: Last weigh in: 154 lbs. Getting up there :/

Cravings: Once I start eating, I can't seem to stop... so I try not to eat too much but every afternoon is the same story. At least I purchase lots of fruit so I have to eat them before they go bad.

Food Aversions: Still Cilantro and Basil. I guess a lot of the common spices like Oregano, Cumin, Parsley, etc. are on my list of aversions. That hasn't changed and I haven't found any new aversions.

What made me cry this week: Oh man, this past Sunday was crazy. We went to 8:30am mass and for whatever reason I cannot get Agnes and myself ready on time even when I wake up at 6:30! Paul and Agnes don't get along that well, she's a true mommy's girl, so when Paul tried to pick her up to carry her down the three flights of stairs form our apt. to our car, that's when all heck broke loose and she lost it, Paul lost it, and I cried all the way to church because he was so upset. That will be a morning I will remember for awhile (even kissing Paul during the sign of peace was a struggle and normally I get over things by then). It even took a while after mass to get over the whole thing.

Medical Stuff: From what my doctor says, all looks well :)

Something I am excited about: Learning to paint with acrylics!

My Pregnancy Journal for Baby #2: Week 28

Baby at 28 Weeks:

Baby BOY is as big as an Eggplant!

Baby boy is starting to develop more fat, so his wrinkly skin will start to get smoother. His lungs are mature enough that he'd probably survive if he were born now. Wow!

My Symptoms: I'm big. Acid Reflux sucks... even with Zantac it's still there :( bathroom visits every half hour. I'm scared to stretch my legs or feet in fear of cramping (really painful). Regular pregnancy stuff. Same as last week.

Maternity clothes? Yes! And I went to Old Navy and got some cute clothes for the Summer :)

Sleep? Apart from the hip pain and the needing to go to the restroom a lot, I sleep pretty well. Its not fun having to get in and out of bed (due to being wrapped up in my snoogle body pillow).

Best moment last week? Agnes behaved very well at church last week as well as other weeks. She doesn't need snacks to keep her happy. She participates very well and has an honest curiosity about Jesus and Mama Mary. So cute!

Movement? A lot! Sometimes too much for comfort but that's a sign he is healthy groeing boy!

Weight Gain: Last weigh in: 154 lbs. Getting up there :/

Cravings: I just want a fast food burger and fries!!

Food Aversions: Still Cilantro and Basil. I guess a lot of the common spices like Oregano, Cumin, Parsley, etc. are on my list of aversions. That hasn't changed and I haven't found any new aversions.

What made me cry this week: Pregnancy hormones and a tired husband :(

Medical Stuff: From what my doctor says, all looks well :)

Something I am excited about: Getting a maternity swimsuit.

My Pregnancy Journal for Baby #2: Week 27

Baby at 27 Weeks:

Baby BOY is as big as a Rutabaga!

Baby boy is practicing inhaling and exhaling with his rapidly developing lungs. It's official: He's showing brain activity!! And his brain will keep on getting more complex.

My Symptoms: I'm big. Acid Reflux sucks... even with Zantac it's still there :( bathroom visits every half hour. I'm scared to stretch my legs or feet in fear of cramping (really painful). Regular pregnancy stuff.

Maternity clothes? Yes. Still need to get some summer clothes, though.

Sleep? Apart from the hip pain and the needing to go to the restroom a lot, I sleep pretty well.

Best moment last week? Just being home in the apartment with my little girl.

Movement? A lot! It's starting to get a little uncomfortable but not too much. I'm still in awe that I can feel him and see him move through my clothes, even if it's slight. It's not the whole stomach moving yet. Just little jabs here and there.

Weight Gain: I could bet anything that I gained at least 5-8 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I've been eating EVERYTHING in sight. So last weigh in was 149 lbs. I'm thinking I'll reach 165-170 by the end of all of this (and even then it'll be 20 lbs lighter than last pregnancy, lol).

Cravings: Uhhh everything sounds good... except the spices below.

Food Aversions: Still Cilantro and Basil. I guess a lot of the common spices like Oregano, Cumin, Parsley, etc. are on my list of aversions. That hasn't changed and I haven't found any new aversions.

What made me cry this week: This week has been better so no tears.

Medical Stuff: Braxton Hicks come and go and are not regular so that's been really good. I passed my glucose test so no GD for me, Yay!!

Something I am excited about: Meeting this little guy!! <3
